This picture was taken the week Of May 11, 2009 at the North Pole. Something I will never see in person but since it's not on my 'list' all is fine by me. Awesome raw beauty and something nether world about it, I think, as it should be.
I got close last November - the top of Norway. As a warm-weather person, this stuff isn't normally for me. But I would recommend that you do it once. These kinds of photos are every day experiences for the folks who live up there. Thanks for posting this.
love that photo. How could you not want to go after seeing that?? Whenever I get around to the bucket list I will add the North Pole to it..The weather there would be a nice change from ol Florida...Forget the cookies... it would be sno-cone time.....
Nice photo! I love pictures of the sky, and I've never seen a moon that big! Going to the Yukon is on my to do list, that's as close as I'll get to the North Pole I think!
Beautiful picture but not a God at work, an art work by Inga Nielsen called Hideaway. Check out the rest of his gallery. http://nielsen.sp01.ab-webspace.de/gallery/
Gorgeous... in a goose bumps kind of way.
